You Can Go to Sleep Now: God’s Awake

When I would wake up with nightmares as a little girl, Mom would comfort me by singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. And that fact she sang over me all those years ago still allows me to sleep peacefully even during some of the most seemingly uncertain chapters of life.

It’s Not Up To Me Because It’s Not About Me


A beautiful and freeing thought is resounding deep in my spirit this morning: It’s not up to me because it’s not about me.

“God is so passionately committed to having a people for his own possession who live forever for the praise of His glory that He is not about to let our eternal destiny depend on our native powers of willing or doing.” – John Piper

“In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.” – Ephesians‬ ‭1:13-14‬ ‭
