A much needed reminder….

I’m not gonna lie…. Healthcare has never been an easy profession. Yes – it is so very rewarding…. but oh so challenging.

And, with the past couple years bringing unimaginable challenges – it’s hard not to have a bit of trepidation going into 2022 filled with thoughts like these:

Will this abominable virus surge again?

Will I lose more colleagues and friends?

How long can we sustain caring for such a large influx of patients?

Will we fight alone or will the general public support us in our battle rather than fight against us in every attempt made to help everyone survive this (masking, social distancing, vaccines, etc.)?

So…. the words spoken as we began our leadership huddle in prayer this morning lifted my heart as they helped silence the fearful voices in m my head:

“God, whatever this new year brings – You come with it.”

You may not be working in healthcare during one of the deadliest pandemics of all history, but I bet you’re going through something. And I imagine you don’t want to be blindsided by more traumatic events as we roll into a new year either….

So take solace in this, friend. Whatever you are walking into in 2022, your Maker is already there.

Don’t Let Perfectionism Paralyze Your Progress

This post is a “re-run” from a blog I wrote in September. But as I still struggle with #PerfectionParalysis (waiting until the “perfect” time or environment to take next steps of progress toward #purpose), it bears repeating! Will you join me in stepping into 2019 seeking #progress rather than #perfection?

So, I’m in some training for work today, @emoryhealthcare’s #QualityAcademy. These words were said during a discussion on selecting which type of graph to use when presenting data. But I think there are some pretty good applications for life in general. For me anyway, the desire for perfection – left unchecked – can stop practical forward motion and leave me feeling pretty useless!

An Open Letter to 2019

Dear 2019,

Because you are just around the corner, I thought I better give you a heads up…. You are going to be different from all those other years.

I am choosing to fully abide in Christ, living in Him.

Not in my own strength.

Not in past sins, fears, and failings.

Not in other’s approval, opinion, or any other thing.

But only, always, forever… in Him.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” -2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

Sincerely,

Me

Never Too Late to Get Back On Track

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It’s Dangerous to just “Play”at Faith

Some of us have learned the hard way that jumping into to Christianity and “church work” (ministry) in our own strength instead of God’s strength can leave your soul bruised and bleeding.  No more playing for this girl. God has some things to do through me.  #ALLin #FirstFruitFast #AmazingIsHere #ReconnectingIn2016

2016: War of Change

So this song is part of my soundtrack for today as I get all last year’s work reports finished up so I can truly start this year off fresh and NEW!  The powerful New Year’s Eve LIVE event at Amazing Church last night comfirmed what’s been on my spirit going into 2016. I’ll share it in #hashtags #BecauseImCoolLikeThat:
#HowThisYearWillBeIsUpToMe #GodsBlessingWaitOnTheOtherSideOfMyChoices

For those of you who don’t speak “hastag”, I’ll say it like this:  A brighter, different future waits just on the other side of different choices.

Change is coming and it’s going to be beautiful, but we have to choose to fight for it.

Choose to make this year amazing, friends!
