Love Over Legislation

If I feel strongly about it, I’ll probably right a poem about it….

What would it look like
If we loved instead of legislated
If decisions on life & breath
Didn’t even have
To the courts be relegated
If a pregnant young woman was so loved
By her community and church
That knowing she wouldn’t be left in the lurch
She could actually hear the tiny voice already whispering in her dreams
Because it’s not being drowned out
By angry protestors screams
Or what if we got to know our neighbors
Who maybe don’t yet have their papers
To learn they’re not all murderers and rapists
Just precious humans
Trying to make it

Pride Month for Christ-Followers

My prayer is that this month will serve as a reminder for those of us who claim to be God’s that we are called to love and not to judge.

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  (Galatians 3:28)  Also “…God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.”
